Wilma Laverne (West) Stobaugh was born November 11, 1916 in Shirley, Arkansas, daughter of Oscar
L. and Dora Wilma (Brown) West She graduated from high school in Clinton, Arkansas, received an
Associate of Arts degree from Central Baptist College, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education
from Arkansas State Teachers College. She married Roy Lawton Stobaugh on May 9,1941. Mrs.
Stobaugh's career included teaching in Scotland, Cherry Valley and Turrell, Arkansas, a career that
ended in retirement after some 20 years in Hughes. She taught a variety of subjects but loved
teaching choral music and then on Sunday playing the piano and organ in her church. After retirement
in 1982, she and Mr. Stobaugh moved to Conway, Arkansas.

She and Mr. Stobaugh were the parents of two daughters, Suzanne and Sara Jane, both graduates of
Hughes High School.

After the passing of Mr. Stobaugh, Mrs. Stobaugh moved to Ojai, California, to live with daughter
Suzanne. She died there on March 11, 2010, interment at Hunter Hill Cemetery, Clinton, Arkansas.
