Tenure: 1994-2014
Lorease (Green) Love was born on March 15, 1952, in Forrest City, Arkansas, to the union of the late S.
D. and Alma (Lane) Green. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age, at Poplar Grove Missionary
Baptist Church. She attended faithfully until her failing health.

She was united in holy matrimony on December 12, 1975, to Curtis Lee Love. This union was blessed
with two children.

Lorease briefly attended Lincoln High School in Forrest City, Arkansas. In August 1966, she and 23
African American students bravely marched into Forrest City High School and ended the segregated
school system in Forrest City, Arkansas. She continued this type of heroism throughout her life. She
never hesitated to voice her opinion and stood firmly against injustice acts, even if she had to stand
alone. Lorease graduated from Forrest City High School in 1969 and continued her educational
studies at Texas College in Tyler, Texas. She graduated from Texas College in 1973. She was a
member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Lorease worked for several businesses in the Forrest City area: First National Bank of Eastern
Arkansas, Manpower Workforce, East Arkansas Community College, and Crowley’s Ridge Technical
Institute (teacher). In May 2014, Lorease retired from Hughes High School, after teaching there for 20
years. Her favorite pastimes were fishing and shopping. On any given Saturday, she was doing one or
the other and these were all day activities for her.
