| Lillian Lorraine “Lillie” (Harrington) Beck December 6, 1901 – February 6, 1964 Music, Piano Tenure: 1948, 1949 |
| Mrs. Beck was born December 6, 1901 at Hammond, Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, daughter of Reverend John Preston Harrington Sr. and Martha Emma (Sigrest) Harrington. She married in 1927 to Earl Crafton Beck. They settled first in Memphis, but by 1940 they were living in Crittenden County, Arkansas, where Mr. Beck followed farming interests. Mrs. Beck became associated with HHS as a piano teacher in the late 1940’s. She accompanied many commencement and Baccalaureate exercises, and her students presented several recitals during her tenure. She also served as the organist for the Hughes First Baptist Church. Mrs. Beck died February 6, 1964 with interment in Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee. |
