| Miss Tibbles was born at Evening Shade, Sharp County, Arkansas, daughter of Charles D. and Aurelia (Shaver) Tibbles. She attended Arkansas State College in Jonesboro, and graduated with a Batchelor of Music Education Degree in 1938, after which she accepted a position as music teacher for the Hughes School System, a position she held until her marriage to Willie Kyle James on June 15, 1947. They settled in Mr. James’ native state of Mississippi, and Mrs. James continued teaching piano on a private basis. After Mr. James’ death, she resettled in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and eventually in Hailey, Blaine County, Idaho, where she died November 10, 2001, burial next to her husband in the Ripley Cemetery, Ripley, Tippah County, Mississippi. |
