| Ernest Owen Waller September 5, 1907 – November 1985 Social Sciences Tenure: 1947-1952 |
| Mr. Waller was born in Arkansas, son of Jessie W. and Gila Anna (Jones) Waller. He married at Marked Tree, Arkansas, on September 15, 1928, to Vida Lucille Battles, daughter of Luther and Alice (Taylor) Battles, and they settled in Crittenden County, where they became the parents of HHS graduates Ernestine (’48) and Nancy Lee (’50). Mr. Waller worked his way through college while still supporting a family, eventually receiving the Batchelor of Science in Education Degree from Memphis State College. He served as a social science teacher on the HHS faculty at least from 1947 to 1952. Mr. Waller eventually settled in Tempe, Maricopa County, Arizona, where he died in November 1985. |
