| Mr. Koon was born February 10, 1911 in Grant County, Arkansas, son of Jacob E. and Lula (Johnson) Koon. He received his B.S. Degree from the College of the Ozarks at Lewisville, Arkansas. Mr. Koon married Thelma B. McDougal on July 11, 1937, and by 1942 they were living in Hughes, where he was the HHS principal, science teacher, and coach. He subsequently served as superintendent of schools at McCrory, Harrisburg, and finally at Sheridan, Arkansas. Mr. Koon died October 19, 1984, interment in Sheridan Cemetery, Grant County, Arkansas. Thelma died April 5, 1991, burial also in Sheridan Cemetery. |
